“Behold, I go forward, but He is not there, and backward, but I cannot perceive Him;
when He works on the left hand, I cannot behold Him; He turns to the right hand, I cannot see Him.
When He gives quietness, who then can make trouble? And when He hides His face, who then can behold Him, whether it is done against a nation or against a man only?
Although you say you do not see Him, yet judgment is before Him, and you must trust in Him.
Yes, He would cross before me, and I would not see Him; He would pass on by, but I would not perceive Him.
Why do You stand far off, O Lord? Why do You hide Yourself in times of trouble?
You beset me behind and before, and laid Your hand upon me.
Truly You are a God who hides Yourself, O God of Israel, the Savior.
He alone has immortality, living in unapproachable light, whom no one has seen, nor can see. To Him be honor and everlasting power. Amen.
