Are not mockers with me? And does not my eye dwell on their provocation?
My friends scorn me; my eyes pour out tears unto God.
“I am a laughingstock to my neighbor, who calls upon God, and He answers him; the righteous, upright man is a laughingstock.
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
He will dwell at ease, and his descendants will inherit the land.
Bear with me that I may speak, and after I have spoken, mock on.
Is it good that He would search you out? Or as one man mocks another, do you so mock Him?
Should your empty talk make men hold their peace? And when you mock, will no one shame you?
“And He has made me a byword of the people, someone in whose face they spit.
Behold, all of you have seen it; why then have you become altogether vain?
