He will not depart out of darkness; the flame will dry out his branches, and by the breath of His mouth he will go away.

He does not believe that he will return from darkness, and a sword awaits him.

He wanders about for bread, saying, ‘Where is it?’ He knows that the day of darkness is ready at his hand.

For the company of hypocrites will be desolate, and fire will consume the tents of bribery.

His roots will be dried up beneath, and above his branch will dry up.

He will be driven from light into darkness, and chased out of the world.

Total darkness is stored up for his treasures. An unfanned fire will consume him; what is left in his tent will be consumed.

‘Surely our adversaries are cut down, and the fire consumes their remnant.’

For it is a fire that consumes to destruction and would root out all my increase.

By the breath of God they perish, and by the blast of His anger they are destroyed.

In the daytime they encounter darkness, and at noontime they grope as in the night.

but with righteousness he shall judge the poor, and reprove with fairness for the meek of the earth. He shall strike the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips he shall slay the wicked.

For Topheth has been long prepared, indeed, for the king it has been prepared. He has made it deep and large, a pile of fire with much wood; the breath of the Lord, like a stream of brimstone, kindles it.

Therefore I have hewn them by the prophets. I have killed them by the words of My mouth, and My judgments go forth like light.

“Then the king told the attendants, ‘Bind him hand and foot, take him away, and cast him into outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

“Then He will say to those at the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the eternal fire, prepared for the devil and his angels.

But the sons of the kingdom will be thrown out into outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

These men are wells without water and clouds that are carried by a storm, for whom the gloom of darkness has been reserved forever.

raging waves of the sea, which are foaming up their own shame; wandering stars for whom the gloom of darkness has been kept forever.

Out of His mouth proceeds a sharp sword, with which He may strike the nations. “He shall rule them with an iron scepter.” He treads the winepress of the fury and wrath of God the Almighty.
