He wanders about for bread, saying, ‘Where is it?’ He knows that the day of darkness is ready at his hand.

Let his children wander continuously and beg; let them seek their bread far from their desolate homes.

They roam around for food, and growl if they are not satisfied.

His strength will be hungry, and destruction will be ready at his side.

but a fearful expectation of judgment and fiery indignation, which will devour the adversaries.

That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of ruin and desolation, a day of darkness and gloom, a day of clouds and blackness,

Will not the day of the Lord be darkness, and not light? Will it not be deep darkness, with no brightness in it?

Even if a man lives many years, let him rejoice in them all; but let him remember that the days of darkness will be many. All that comes is vanity.

He will be driven from light into darkness, and chased out of the world.

From now on when you till the ground, it will not yield for you its best. You will be a fugitive and a wanderer on the earth.”

He does not believe that he will return from darkness, and a sword awaits him.

Trouble and anguish will make him afraid; they will prevail against him as a king ready to the battle.

He will not depart out of darkness; the flame will dry out his branches, and by the breath of His mouth he will go away.

But I will sing of Your power; I will sing aloud of Your lovingkindness in the morning, for You have been my defense and a refuge in the day of my trouble.

The Lord will not let the soul of the righteous go hungry, but He rejects the craving of the wicked.

The Lord works out all things for Himself, even the wicked for the day of evil.
