Though its root may grow old in the earth, and its stump may die in the ground,
“For there is hope for a tree, if it is cut down, that it will sprout again, and that its tender shoots will not cease.
yet at the scent of water it will bud and bring forth boughs like a plant.
Your dead shall live, their corpses shall arise. Awake and sing, you who dwell in dust, for your dew is as the dew of the dawn, and the earth shall give birth to the departed spirits.
Truly, truly I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone. But if it dies, it bears much fruit.
You fool! What you sow is not made alive unless it dies.
