Should your empty talk make men hold their peace? And when you mock, will no one shame you?

“I am a laughingstock to my neighbor, who calls upon God, and He answers him; the righteous, upright man is a laughingstock.

But you are plasterers of falsehood; you are all physicians of no value.

Is it good that He would search you out? Or as one man mocks another, do you so mock Him?

Are not mockers with me? And does not my eye dwell on their provocation?

Bear with me that I may speak, and after I have spoken, mock on.

“If it is not so, who will prove me a liar and make my speech worth nothing?”

What man is like Job, who drinks scorn like water,

with hypocritical mockers at feasts, they gnashed at me with their teeth.

Fill their faces with shame, that they may seek Your name, O  Lord.

I did not sit in the assembly of mockers, nor did I rejoice; I sat alone because of Your hand, for You have filled me with indignation.

If anyone does not obey our word in this letter, note that man, and do not socialize with him, so that he may be ashamed.

and sound speech that cannot be condemned, so that the one who opposes you may be ashamed, having nothing evil to say of you.

They said to you, “In the last days there will be scoffers who will walk after their own ungodly desires.”
