For a voice of wailing is heard out of Zion, “How devastated we are! We are greatly humiliated, because we have forsaken the land, because our dwellings have cast us out.”
Then the Lord said to me: Even though Moses and Samuel were to stand before Me, yet My heart would not be with this people. Cast them out of My sight and let them go!
Cut off your hair, O Jerusalem, and cast it away, and take up a lamentation on high places, for the Lord has rejected and forsaken the generation of His wrath.
They cried out to them, “Depart! Unclean! Depart, depart, do not touch us!” Therefore they fled and wandered; men among the nations said, “They shall live with us no longer.”
In that day they will take up a taunt against you, and they will wail a wailing lament, and say: “We are totally ruined! He diminishes the portion of my people; how He removes it from me! To a traitor He reassigns our fields!”
You will grope at noon, as the blind man gropes in darkness, and you will not prosper in your ways. You will only be oppressed and continually robbed, and no man will save you.
