The mighty men of Babylon have ceased fighting; they have remained in their strongholds. Their might has failed; they became as women. They have burned her dwelling places; the bars of her gates are broken.

Your troops are women in your midst! The gates of your land are wide open to your enemies; fire has devoured your bars.

For He has strengthened the bars of your gates; He has blessed your children within you.

For He has broken the gates of bronze and cut the bars of iron in two.

Behold, they shall be as stubble, the fire shall burn them; they shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame; it shall not be coal to be warmed by nor a fire to sit before.

Shout against her all around; she has given herself up, her foundations have fallen, her walls have been thrown down. For this is the vengeance of the Lord. Take vengeance on her; as she has done, do to her.
