It shall come to pass that as I have watched over them to pluck up, and to break down, and to throw down, and to destroy, and to afflict, so I will watch over them, to build, and to plant, says the Lord.

“Oh, that I were as in months past, as in the days when God watched over me;

For the Lord will build up Zion; He will appear in His glory.

The Lord builds up Jerusalem; He gathers together the outcasts of Israel.

For God will save Zion, and will build the cities of Judah, that they may dwell there and possess it.

Behold, I have this day set you over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out and to pull down, to destroy and to throw down, to build and to plant.”

Then the Lord said to me, “You have seen well, for I will hasten My word to perform it.”

For I will set My eyes upon them for good, and I will bring them again to this land. And I will build them up and not pull them down. And I will plant them and not pluck them up.

Indeed, I will rejoice over them to do them good, and I will plant them in this land assuredly with My whole heart and with My whole soul.

For thus says the Lord: Just as I have brought all this great calamity upon this people, so I will bring upon them all the good that I have promised them.

If you will still abide in this land, then I will build you up and not pull you down, and I will plant you and not pluck you up; for I will relent of the disaster that I have brought on you.

Behold, I will watch over them for disaster and not for good. And all the men of Judah who are in the land of Egypt shall be consumed by the sword and by the famine until there is an end of them.

Thus you shall say to him, “Thus says the Lord: Behold, what I have built I will break down, and that which I have planted I will pluck up, even this whole land.

But it was plucked up in fury, it was cast down to the ground, and the east wind dried up its fruit. Its strong rod was broken and it withered; the fire consumed it.

And I will multiply men upon you, all the house of Israel, all of it. And the cities shall be inhabited, and the waste places shall be built.

Therefore, the Lord has kept the disaster in store and brought it upon us. For the Lord our God is righteous in all His works which He does, but we have not obeyed His voice.

“Know therefore and understand that from the going forth of the command to restore and to rebuild Jerusalem until the Prince Messiah shall be seven weeks, and sixty-two weeks. It shall be built again, with plaza and moat, even in times of trouble.

On that day will I raise up the hut of David that is fallen; I will close up its breached walls, raise up its ruins, and rebuild it as in the days of old;

I will restore the fortunes of My people Israel; they will rebuild the ruined cities and inhabit them; they will plant vineyards and drink their wine; they will make gardens and eat their fruit.

Thus says the Lord of Hosts: Just as I had determined to punish you when your fathers incited Me to wrath, says the Lord of Hosts, I did not relent.

So again have I purposed in these days to do good to Jerusalem and to the house of Judah. Do not fear!

‘After this I will return, and I will rebuild the tabernacle of David, which has fallen; I will rebuild its ruins, and I will set it up;

The Lord your God will make you prosper in every work of your hand, in the offspring of your body, and in the offspring of your livestock, and in the produce of your land, for good. For the Lord will once again rejoice over you for good, just as He rejoiced over your fathers,
