Hear the word of the Lord, O nations, and declare it in the coastlands far off, and say, “He who scattered Israel will gather him and keep him, as a shepherd does his flock.”
From these the coastlands of the nations were divided into their lands, everyone according to his tongue, according to their families, by their nations.
In that day the Lord shall thresh from the channel of the Euphrates River to the stream of Egypt, and you shall be gathered one by one, O sons of Israel.
He shall feed His flock like a shepherd; He shall gather the lambs with His arm, and carry them in His bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.
Keep silent before Me, O islands, and let the peoples renew their strength. Let them come near, then let them speak; let us come near together to judgment.
Sing to the Lord a new song, and His praise from the ends of the earth, you who go down to the sea, and all that is in it, the coastlands, and the inhabitants.
Go forth from Babylon! Flee from the Chaldeans! With a voice of singing declare, proclaim this, utter it even to the ends of the earth; say, “The Lord has redeemed His servant Jacob.”
Surely the coastlands shall wait for Me, and the ships of Tarshish shall come first, to bring your sons from afar, their silver and their gold with them, to the name of the Lord your God and to the Holy One of Israel because He has glorified you.
I will set a sign among them, and send from them survivors to the nations: to Tarshish, Pul, and Lud —who draw the bow—to Tubal, and Javan, to the coastlands afar off who have not heard My fame or seen My glory. And they shall declare My glory among the nations.
Israel is a scattered flock. The lions have driven him away. First the king of Assyria devoured him; and this last one who has broken his bones is Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon.
Therefore say, Thus says the Lord God: Although I have cast them far off among the nations, and although I have scattered them among the countries, yet I will be a sanctuary to them for a little while in the countries where they have gone.
And I will bring you out from the peoples and will gather you out of the countries in which you are scattered with a mighty hand and with an outstretched arm and with fury poured out.
As a shepherd seeks out his flock in the day that he is among his sheep that are scattered, so I will seek out My sheep and will deliver them out of all the places where they have been scattered in a cloudy and dark day.
David My servant shall be king over them. And they all shall have one shepherd. They shall also walk in My judgments, and observe My statutes and do them.
Therefore the fathers shall eat their sons in your midst, and the sons shall eat their fathers. I will execute judgments on you, and the whole remnant of you will I scatter into all the winds.
You shall burn with fire one-third in the midst of the city when the days of the siege are fulfilled. Then you shall take one-third and strike it with the sword all around the city. And one-third you shall scatter in the wind. And I will draw out a sword after them.
After this he shall turn his face to the coastlands and shall capture many. But a commander shall put a stop to his reproach against him, and he shall repay him for his reproach.
I will indeed assemble Jacob—all of you; I will indeed gather the remnant of Israel. I will place them together like sheep in a fold, like a herd in its pasture— thronging with people.
He will stand and shepherd in the strength of the Lord, in the majesty of the name of the Lord his God; then they will live securely, because now He will be great until the ends of the earth;
The Lord will be dreadful to them, for He will weaken all the gods of the earth; men will worship Him, each from his place, all the lands of the nations.
At that time I will deal with all who oppress you; I will save the lame and gather the outcast; I will give them praise and fame in every land where they have been put to shame.
