Jeremiah 15:1

Then the Lord said to me: Even though Moses and Samuel were to stand before Me, yet My heart would not be with this people. Cast them out of My sight and let them go!

Now Abraham got up early in the morning and went to the place where he stood before the Lord.

The Lord rejected all the seed of Israel, afflicted them, and gave them into the hand of plunderers until He had cast them out of His presence.

Therefore He said that He would destroy them, had not Moses, His chosen one, stood before Him in the breach, to turn away His wrath from destroying them.

Moses and Aaron were among His priests, and Samuel was among those who called upon His name. They called upon the Lord, and He answered them.

The favor of the king is toward a wise servant, but his wrath falls on him who brings shame.

For thus says the Lord: Behold, I will sling out the inhabitants of the land at this time, and will distress them that they may be found.

Therefore do not pray for this people, nor lift up a cry or prayer for them. For I will not hear them in the time that they cry to Me because of their trouble.

Then the Lord said to me: Do not pray for the good of this people.

When they fast, I will not hear their cry. And when they offer a burnt offering and a grain offering, I will not accept them. But I will consume them by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence.

Therefore thus says the Lord: If you return, then I will bring you back, and you shall stand before Me; and if you take out the precious from the worthless, you will be My spokesman. Let them return to you, but do not return to them.

Therefore I will cast you out of this land into a land that you do not know, neither you nor your fathers; and there you will serve other gods day and night because I will not show you favor.

For thus says the Lord: Do not enter a house of mourning, or go to lament or bemoan them; for I have taken away My peace from this people, says the Lord, even lovingkindness and mercy.

Shall evil be recompensed for good? For they have dug a pit for my soul. Remember that I stood before You to speak good for them, and to turn away Your wrath from them.

Is this man Koniah a despised broken jar? Is he a vessel in which is no desire? Why are he and his seed cast out and thrown into a land which they had not known?

Therefore, behold, I will utterly forget you and cast you and the city that I gave you and your fathers out of My presence.

therefore thus says the Lord of Hosts, the God of Israel, Jonadab the son of Rekab shall not lack a man to stand before Me always.

Through the anger of the Lord this came to pass in Jerusalem and Judah until He had cast them out from His presence. Then Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.

For a voice of wailing is heard out of Zion, “How devastated we are! We are greatly humiliated, because we have forsaken the land, because our dwellings have cast us out.”

Even though these three men, Noah, Danel, and Job, were in it, they could deliver but their own souls by their righteousness, says the Lord God.

I sought for a man among them who would build up the hedge and stand in the gap before Me for the land so that I would not destroy it, but I found no one.

All their wickedness is in Gilgal, for there I hated them. Because of the wickedness of their deeds, I will drive them out of My house. I will love them no more. All their princes are rebels.

Now Joshua had on filthy garments and was standing before the angel.

I prayed therefore to the Lord, and said, “O Lord God, do not destroy Your people, Your inheritance, which You have redeemed through Your greatness, which You have brought out of Egypt with a mighty hand.

For Christ did not enter holy places made with hands, which are patterned after the true one, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us.

My heart is with the rulers of Israel who offered themselves willingly among the people. Bless the Lord!

All the people said to Samuel, “Pray for your servants to the Lord your God, that we will not die, for we have added to all our sins this evil, to ask for ourselves a king.”

Moreover as for me, God forbid that I should sin against the Lord in ceasing to pray for you. But I will teach you the good and the right way.

Samuel took a suckling lamb, and offered it for a burnt offering unto the Lord. And Samuel cried to the Lord for Israel and the Lord heard him.
