The nations rumble like the rumbling of many waters; but God shall rebuke them, and they shall flee far off, and shall be chased as the chaff of the mountains before the wind, and like rolling dust before the whirlwind.
You shall fan them, and the wind shall carry them away, and the whirlwind shall scatter them; and you shall rejoice in the Lord, and shall glory in the Holy One of Israel.
I will scatter them also among the nations, whom neither they nor their fathers have known. And I will send a sword after them until I have consumed them.
The Lord has trampled underfoot all my mighty men in my midst; He has called an assembly against me to crush my young men; The Lord has trodden the virgin daughter of Judah as in a winepress.
All the choice men in all his troops shall fall by the sword, and those who remain shall be scattered toward all winds. And you shall know that I the Lord have spoken it.
One-third of you shall die by pestilence or by famine; they shall be consumed in your midst. And one-third shall fall by the sword all around you. And I will scatter one-third into all the winds, and I will draw out a sword after them.
You shall burn with fire one-third in the midst of the city when the days of the siege are fulfilled. Then you shall take one-third and strike it with the sword all around the city. And one-third you shall scatter in the wind. And I will draw out a sword after them.
Therefore they will be like the morning cloud, or like the early dew that passes away, like chaff blown off the threshing floor, or like the smoke from a chimney.
before the decree takes effect, before the day passes like chaff, before the fierce anger of the Lord comes upon you, before the day of the Lord’s anger comes upon you.
They will fall by the edge of the sword and will be led away captive to all nations. And Jerusalem will be trampled on by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.
The Lord will scatter you among all the peoples, from the one end of the earth to the other, and there you will serve other gods, wood and stone, which neither you nor your fathers have known.
