Therefore thus says the Lord of the men of Anathoth who seek your life, saying, “Do not prophesy in the name of the Lord so that you not die by our hand.”

For the son dishonors the father, the daughter rises up against her mother, the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law— the enemies of a man are members of his own household.

“The brother will deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child. And the children will rise up against their parents and cause them to be put to death.

“The vinedressers took his servants and beat one, killed another, and stoned another.

the rest took his servants, treated them spitefully, and killed them.

He also said, “Truly, I say to you, no prophet is accepted in his own country.
