The way of peace they do not know, and there is no justice in their ways; they have made their paths crooked; whoever walks in them does not know peace.

As for those who turn aside to their crooked ways, the Lord will lead them away with the workers of iniquity. Peace be upon Israel!

from those who leave the paths of uprightness to walk in the ways of darkness,

whose paths are crooked, and who are devious in their ways;

Crooked is the way of a guilty man, but as for the pure, his conduct is right.

“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! You tithe mint and dill and cumin, but have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faith. These you ought to have done without leaving the others undone.

to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.”
