Yet to all who received Him, He gave the power to become sons of God, to those who believed in His name,

This man came as a witness in order to testify concerning the Light, that all men through Him might believe.

This fulfilled the word spoken by Isaiah the prophet: “Lord, who has believed our report, and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?”

For to those who are perishing, the preaching of the cross is foolishness, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

But to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, we preach Christ as the power of God and the wisdom of God.
