Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of the Lord. Awake as in the ancient days, in the generations of old. Was it not You who cut Rahab to pieces and wounded the dragon?

He divides the sea with His power, and by His understanding He strikes through the proud.

God will not withdraw His anger. The proud helpers bow down beneath Him.

Be exalted, O  Lord, in Your strength! We will sing and praise Your power.

We have heard with our ears, O God; our fathers have told us what deeds You performed in their days, in the days of old:

You drove out the nations with Your hand, but them You planted; You afflicted the peoples, but them You set free.

Awake! Why do You sleep, O Lord? Arise! Do not cast us off forever!

Why do You hide Your face? Why do you forget our affliction and our oppression?

For no fault of mine, they run and prepare themselves. Awake to help me, and take notice!

Arise, O  Lord, in Your anger; rise up because of the rage of my adversaries, and awaken Yourself for me; You have commanded justice.

I have considered the days of old, the years long ago.

Then the Lord awoke as one out of sleep, like a mighty man who shouts because of wine.

I will make mention of Rahab and Babylon to those who know Me; behold, Philistia and Tyre, with Cush: “This one was born there.”

You crushed Rahab like one who is slain; You scattered Your enemies with Your mighty arm.

The heavens are Yours; the earth also is Yours; the world and all that is in it, You have founded them.

The Lord reigns; He is clothed with majesty; the Lord is clothed; He has girded Himself with strength. Indeed, the world is established; it shall not be moved.

“Therefore say to the Israelites: ‘I am the Lord, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will rid you out of their bondage, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great judgments.

In that day the Lord with His fierce and great and strong sword shall punish Leviathan the fleeing serpent, even Leviathan the twisted serpent; and He shall slay the dragon that is in the sea.

For the Egyptians shall help in vain and to no purpose. Therefore, I have called her, “Rahab who has been exterminated.”

Awake, awake, stand up, O Jerusalem, you who have drunk at the hand of the Lord the cup of His fury; the cup of reeling you have drained to the dregs.

My righteousness is near, My salvation has gone forth, and My arms shall judge the peoples; the coastlands shall wait for Me, and for My arm they shall expectantly wait.

Awake, awake! Put on your strength, O Zion; put on your beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city. For the uncircumcised and the unclean will no longer enter you.

The Lord has bared His holy arm in the eyes of all the nations, and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God.

Who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?

The Lord has sworn by His right hand and by His strong arm: Surely I will no longer give your grain as food for your enemies; and the sons of the foreigners shall not drink your wine for which you have labored.

Speak, and say, Thus says the Lord God: Behold, I am against you, Pharaoh king of Egypt, the great dragon that lies in the midst of his rivers, which has said, “My Nile is my own, and I myself have made it.”

As in the days when you came out of Egypt, I will display wonders.

Woe to him who says to the wood, “Awake!” To the silent stone, “Arise!” Can it teach? It is overlaid with gold and silver, and there is no breath at all in it.

You went forth to deliver Your people, to deliver Your anointed one. You wounded the head of the house of the wicked, laying him bare from head to foot.    Selah

He will pass through the sea of distress, and will put down the waves in the sea: All the depths of the Nile will be dried up; and the arrogance of Assyria will be brought down, and the scepter of Egypt will turn away.

Be still, all flesh before the Lord, for He is stirred from His holy habitation.

He has shown strength with His arm; He has scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.

This fulfilled the word spoken by Isaiah the prophet: “Lord, who has believed our report, and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?”

And I will judge the nation to whom they will be enslaved,’ said God. ‘After that they shall come out and worship Me in this place.’

Or has God ever tried to take for Himself a nation from the midst of another nation, by trials, by signs, and by wonders, and by war, and by a mighty hand, and by an outstretched arm, and by great terrors, according to all that the Lord your God did for you in Egypt before your eyes?

saying: “We give You thanks, O Lord God Almighty, who is and was and who is to come, because You have taken Your great power and begun to reign.

The great dragon was cast out, that ancient serpent called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world. He was cast down to the earth, and his angels were cast down with him.

Then Gideon said to him, “O my lord, if the Lord is with us, then why has all this happened to us? Where are all His miracles that our fathers told us about? They said, ‘Did not the Lord bring us out of Egypt?’ Yet now the Lord has forsaken us and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites.”
