Now I will sing to my well-beloved a song of my beloved concerning His vineyard: My well-beloved has a vineyard in a very fruitful hill.

I will sing of mercy and justice; to You, O  Lord, will I sing praises.

My heart is overflowing with a goodly theme; I recite my special song to the king; my tongue is like the pen of a skillful scribe.

That Your beloved may be delivered, save with Your right hand and answer us!

You have brought a vine out of Egypt; You have cast out the nations and planted it.

My beloved is mine, and I am his. He feeds his flock among the lilies.

His mouth is most sweet, and he is altogether lovely. He is my lover and he is my friend, O daughters of Jerusalem.

I am sleeping, but my heart is awake. A sound! My lover is knocking. Open the door for me, my sister, my beloved, my dove and pure one; for my head is wet with dew, my hair with the drops of the night.

Many shepherds have destroyed My vineyard; they have trodden My portion underfoot; they have made My pleasant portion a desolate wilderness.

Yet I had planted you a noble vine, a wholly faithful seed. How then have you turned into the degenerate plant of a strange vine to Me?

Son of man, how is the wood of the vine tree better than any wood of a branch which is among the trees of the forest?

Your mother was like a vine in your vineyard, planted by the waters; it was fruitful and full of branches by reason of many waters.

Israel is a fertile vine that brings forth its fruit. As his fruit multiplied, so his altars increased; as his land prospered, so he improved his pillars.

“Listen to another parable: There was a certain landowner who planted a vineyard and built a wall around it. He dug a winepress in it and built a tower. Then he rented it to vinedressers and went into a distant country.

He began to speak to them in parables. “A man planted a vineyard, and set a hedge around it, and dug a pit for the winepress, and built a tower, and rented it to vinedressers, and went to a far country.

He began to tell the people this parable: “A man planted a vineyard, and leased it to vinedressers, and went to a distant country for a long time.

“I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser.

When you have eaten and are full, then you shall bless the Lord your God for the good land which He has given you.

For the Lord your God is bringing you into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and springs that flow out of valleys and hills,
