Has He struck them, as He struck those who struck them? Or like the slaughter of His slain, have they been slain?

Moreover the multitude of your enemies shall become like fine dust, and the multitude of the ruthless ones as chaff which blows away; and it shall happen in an instant, suddenly.

“Then the Assyrian shall fall by the sword that is not of man, and the sword not of man shall devour him. So he shall not escape the sword, and his young men shall become forced laborers.

Then Nebuchadnezzar spoke and said, “Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who has sent His angel and delivered His servants who trusted in Him. They have defied the king’s word and yielded their bodies, so that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God.

They will shepherd the land of Assyria with the sword, and the land of Nimrod at her gates; He will rescue us from Assyria, when he enters our land and when he treads within our border.

So the Lord says: “Even though they are full and many, they will be cut down, and it will pass away. Even though I have afflicted you, I will no longer afflict you, O Judah;

Horsemen charging with flashing sword and glittering spear. Multitude of slain, great number of corpses, dead bodies without end— they stumble on the corpses —

Immediately an angel of the Lord struck him, because he did not give God the glory. And he was eaten by worms and died.
