The Lord said to him, “Who has made man’s mouth? Or who made the mute, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? Have not I, the Lord?

and your mouth like the best wine. It travels down smoothly for my beloved, gliding through the lips of those who fall asleep.

Those also who err in spirit shall know the truth, and those who murmured shall accept instruction.

Say to those who are of a fearful heart, “Be strong, fear not. Behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompense; He will come and save you.”

When they saw the boldness of Peter and John and perceived that they were untrained and uneducated men, they marveled. And they recognized that they had been with Jesus.

So the word of God spread, and the number of the disciples grew rapidly in Jerusalem, and a great number of the priests were obedient to the faith.

They had heard only, “He who persecuted us in times past now preaches the faith which he once destroyed.”
