The Lord shall cause His glorious voice to be heard, and shall show the descending of His arm with the indignation of His anger, and with the flame of a devouring fire, with scattering, and cloudburst, and hailstones.

“Have you entered the treasuries of the snow? Or have you seen the treasuries of the hail,

which I have reserved against the time of trouble, against the day of battle and war?

Have you an arm like God? Or can you thunder with a voice like Him?

Then He will speak to them in His wrath and terrify them in His burning anger:

The nations raged; the kingdoms were moved; He uttered His voice; the earth melted.

Oh sing to the Lord a new song, for He has done marvelous things! His right hand and His holy arm have gained the victory for Him.

Fear and dread fall upon them; by the greatness of Your arm they are as still as a stone, until Your people pass over, O  Lord, until the people whom You have purchased pass over.

You shall be punished from the Lord of Hosts with thunder and earthquake and loud noise, with storm and tempest, and the flame of a devouring fire.

You shall have songs, as in the night when a festival is kept, and gladness of heart, as when one goes with a flute to come into the mountain of the Lord, to the Mighty One of Israel.

For through the voice of the Lord the Assyrian shall be beaten down when He strikes with a rod.

For thus the Lord has spoken to me: Like the lion, and the young lion, roars over his prey, against which a multitude of shepherds is called out against him, he will not be afraid of their voice, nor disturbed at their noise, so shall the Lord of Hosts come down to fight for Mount Zion, and for its hill.

and it shall hail when the forest comes down, and the city shall be utterly laid low.

The sinners in Zion are afraid; fearfulness has seized the hypocrites: “Who among us can live with the continual fire? Who among us can live with everlasting burning?”

There shall be a tabernacle for a shadow in the daytime from the heat, and for a place of refuge, and for a shelter from storm and from rain.

Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of the Lord. Awake as in the ancient days, in the generations of old. Was it not You who cut Rahab to pieces and wounded the dragon?

The Lord has bared His holy arm in the eyes of all the nations, and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God.

The Lord has sworn by His right hand and by His strong arm: Surely I will no longer give your grain as food for your enemies; and the sons of the foreigners shall not drink your wine for which you have labored.

For behold, the Lord shall come with fire, and with His chariots like a whirlwind, to render His anger with fury and His rebuke with flames of fire.

For by fire and by His sword on all flesh, the Lord shall execute judgment; and the slain of the Lord shall be many.

Thus says the Lord of Hosts: Behold, disaster shall go forth from nation to nation, and a great whirlwind shall be raised up from the remote parts of the earth.

The sound of the wings of the cherubim was heard even in the outer court, like the voice of the Almighty God when He speaks.

Therefore thus says the Lord God: I will make a violent wind break out in My fury. And there shall be an overflowing shower in My anger, and hailstones in My fury to consume it.

As with the sound of chariots, they leap on the mountaintops, as with the sound of a flame of fire consuming stubble, as a mighty army arrayed for war.

So I will kindle a fire against the wall of Rabbah, and it will devour its fortresses, with a war cry on the day of battle, with a tempest on the day of the whirlwind.

The mountains will melt beneath Him, and the valleys split apart like wax before the fire, like waters deluged down a slope.

For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines, epidemics, and earthquakes in various places.

He has shown strength with His arm; He has scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.

in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The Lord panicked them before Israel. They struck them with overwhelming force at Gibeon, then Israel pursued them on the road that rises to Beth-horon and struck them down as far as Azekah and Makkedah.

As they fled from Israel on the downslope from Beth-horon, the Lord hurled large hailstones down upon them from the sky as far as Azekah. They died, and in fact more died from the hailstones than the Israelites killed with the sword.

His feet were like fine brass, as if refined in a furnace, and His voice as the sound of many waters.

Then the temple of God was opened in heaven, and the ark of His covenant was seen in His temple. And there came lightning, noises, thundering, an earthquake, and great hail.

As Samuel was offering up the burnt offering, the Philistines drew near to battle against Israel, but the Lord thundered with a great thunder on that day against the Philistines, and confused them. So they were beaten before Israel.
