The Lord will enter into judgment with the elders and the princes of His people: For you have eaten up the vineyard; the spoil of the poor is in your houses.

“Is it because of your fear of Him that He corrects you, and enters into judgment with you?

The murderer, rising with the light, kills the poor and needy, and in the night he is like a thief.

They snatch the fatherless from the breast and take a pledge from the poor.

For He will not lay upon man more than right, that he should enter into judgment with God.

He lies in wait secretly as a lion in his den; he lies in wait to catch the poor; he catches the poor, drawing them into his net.

Have they no knowledge, all the workers of iniquity, who eat my people as they eat bread, and do not call upon the Lord?

Enter not into judgment with Your servant, for in Your sight no one living is righteous.

The firstborn of the poor shall feed, and the needy shall lie down in safety: and I will kill your root with famine, and he shall slay your remnant.

The foot shall tread it down, even the feet of the poor and the steps of the needy.

The meek also shall increase their joy in the Lord, and the poor among men shall rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.

Therefore, thus says the Holy One of Israel: Because you despise this word and trust in oppression and perverseness, and rely on them,

For the vineyard of the Lord of Hosts is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah His pleasant plant. Thus He looked for justice, but behold, oppression; for righteousness, but behold, an outcry!

Behold, you fast for strife and debate, and to strike with the fist of wickedness. You do not fast as you do this day, to make your voice to be heard on high.

Many shepherds have destroyed My vineyard; they have trodden My portion underfoot; they have made My pleasant portion a desolate wilderness.

As a cage is full of birds, so are their houses full of deceit. Therefore they have become great and rich.

has oppressed the poor and needy, has devastated by violence, has not restored the pledge, and has lifted up his eyes to the idols, has committed abomination,

I will bring you into the wilderness of the peoples, and there I will enter into judgment with you face to face.

As I entered into judgment with your fathers in the wilderness of the land of Egypt, so I will enter into judgment with you, says the Lord God.

If you sell anything to your neighbor or buy anything from your neighbor, you shall not oppress one another.

You shall not therefore oppress one another, but you shall fear your God, for I am the Lord your God.

They trample the head of the poor into the dust of the earth, and push the oppressed out of the way. A man and his father go in to the same woman, profaning My holy name.

Hear this word, you cows of Bashan, who are on the mountain of Samaria, who oppress the poor and crush the needy, who say to their husbands, “Bring us something to drink!”

Woe to those who conceive wickedness, to those who devise evil on their beds! At morning’s light they execute it, because it is in the power of their hand.

They covet fields and seize them, and houses and take them. They defraud a man of his house, and a fellow man of his inheritance.

you who have eaten the flesh of My people, and have flayed their skin from them, and broken their bones in pieces; who have chopped them up like meat in the pot, and like flesh in the cauldron.

Are there still in the house of the wicked treasures of wickedness? And the short ephah which is accursed?

“Listen to another parable: There was a certain landowner who planted a vineyard and built a wall around it. He dug a winepress in it and built a tower. Then he rented it to vinedressers and went into a distant country.

But you have despised the poor. Do not rich men oppress you and drag you before the judgment seats?
