Isaiah 25:1

Modern English Version

O  Lord, You are my God. I will exalt You, I will praise Your name, for You have done wonderful things; Your plans formed of old are faithfulness and truth.

He has made His wonderful works to be remembered; the Lord is gracious and compassionate.

You are my God, and I will give thanks to You; You are my God; I will exalt You.

I will exalt you, my God, O King, and I will bless Your name forever and ever.

While I live I will praise the Lord; I will sing praises to my God while I have my being.

My times are in Your hand; deliver me from the hand of my enemies, and from those who persecute me.

You have multiplied, O  Lord my God, Your wondrous deeds and Your thoughts toward us; none can compare with You. if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.

Sacrifice and offering You did not desire; my ears You have opened. Burnt offering and sin offering You have not required.

Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.

When I set the appointed time, I will judge with equity.

We will not hide them from their children, but tell the generation to come the praises of the Lord, and His strength and the wonderful works that He has done.

I will sing of the mercies of the Lord forever; with my mouth will I make known Your faithfulness to all generations.

Oh sing to the Lord a new song, for He has done marvelous things! His right hand and His holy arm have gained the victory for Him.

Exalt the Lord our God, and worship at His footstool! Holy is He!

The Lord is my strength and song, and He has become my salvation. He is my God, and I will praise Him; my father’s God, and I will exalt Him.

Righteousness shall be the belt of his loins, and faithfulness the belt about his waist.

And in that day you shall say: O  Lord, I will praise You; though You were angry with me, Your anger has turned away, and You comforted me.

O  Lord our God, other lords besides You have had dominion over us, but through You alone we confess Your name.

In the way of Your judgments, O  Lord, we have waited for You eagerly; the desire of our souls is Your name, even Your memory.

This also comes from the Lord of Hosts, who is wonderful in counsel and excellent in wisdom.

Why do you say, O Jacob, and assert, O Israel, “My way is hidden from the Lord, and my justice escapes the notice of my God”?

declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, “My counsel shall stand, and I will do all My good pleasure,”

calling a ravenous bird from the east, the man who executes My counsel from a far country. Indeed, I have spoken it; I will also bring it to pass. I have purposed it; I will also do it.

Then I said, “I have labored in vain; I have spent my strength for nothing and vanity, yet surely the justice due to me is with the Lord, and my reward with my God.”

Now says the Lord, who formed me from the womb to be His servant, to bring Jacob back to Him, so that Israel might be gathered to Him (yet I am honored in the eyes of the Lord, and my God is my strength),

I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.

Then he said, “Hear now, O house of David. Is it a small thing for you to weary men, but will you weary my God also?

You will eat abundantly and be satisfied, and you will praise the name of the Lord your God, who has worked wonders for you; and My people will never again be shamed.

God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He spoken, and will He not do it? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?

In Him also we have received an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His own will,

They sang the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying: “Great and marvelous are Your works, Lord God Almighty! Just and true are Your ways, O King of saints!

I saw heaven opened. And behold, there was a white horse. He who sat on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and wages war.

saying: “Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and might be to our God forever and ever! Amen.”
