But now the Lord has spoken, saying, Within three years, as the years of a hireling, the glory of Moab shall be brought into contempt with all his great population, and his remnant shall be very small and feeble.

For thus the Lord has said to me: Within a year, according to the years of a hireling, all the glory of Kedar shall fail.

The Lord of Hosts has purposed it, to stain the pride of all glory and to bring into contempt all the honorable of the earth.

For in this mountain the hand of the Lord shall rest, and Moab shall be trodden down in his place as straw is trodden down in the water for the manure pile.

He shall spread out his hands in the midst of it, as a swimmer spreads out his hands to swim, yet the Lord shall bring down his pride together with the trickery of his hands.

For before the child shall know to refuse the evil and choose the good, the land that you dread shall be forsaken of both her kings.

Moab will be destroyed from being a people because he has magnified himself against the Lord.

Thus says the Lord: Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, and let not the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches;

But you shall open your hand wide to him and must surely lend him what is sufficient for his need, in that which he lacks.
