The noise of a multitude in the mountains, like as of a great people! A tumultuous noise of the kingdoms of nations gathered together! The Lord of Hosts musters the army for battle.
Woe to the multitude of many people who make a noise like the noise of the seas, and the rushing of many peoples who make a rumble like the rumbling of mighty waters!
Assemble, all of you, and listen. Who among them has declared these things? The Lord has loved him; he will do His pleasure on Babylon, and His arm shall be against the Chaldeans.
In that day they shall roar against them like the roaring of the sea. And if one looks to the land— behold, darkness and sorrow; and the light is darkened by the clouds.
Thus says the Lord God of Israel: Behold, I will turn back the weapons of war that are in your hands with which you fight against the king of Babylon and against the Chaldeans who besiege you outside the walls; and I will assemble them into the midst of this city.
For many nations and great kings will make slaves of them, even themselves. And I will recompense them according to their deeds and according to the works of their hands.
And I will compensate you for the years the locusts have eaten— the larval locust, the hopper locust, and the fledging locust— My great army which I sent against you.
Therefore her plagues will come in one day — death and mourning and famine. And she will be utterly burned with fire, for strong is the Lord God who judges her.
