And in that day you shall say: O  Lord, I will praise You; though You were angry with me, Your anger has turned away, and You comforted me.

Then he said to them, “Go your way. Eat the fat, drink the sweet drink, and send portions to those for whom nothing is prepared, for this day is holy to our Lord. Do not be grieved, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”

because you will forget misery, and remember it as waters that pass away,

He also will be my salvation, for a hypocrite could not come before Him.

For His anger endures but for a moment; His favor is for a lifetime; weeping may linger for the night, but joy comes in the morning.

You will increase my greatness and comfort me on every side.

Restore us, O God of our salvation, and cause Your indignation toward us to cease.

Show me a sign of Your favor, that those who hate me may see it and be ashamed, because You, Lord, have helped me and comforted me.

I will give thanks to You, O  Lord, with my whole heart; I will declare all Your marvelous works.

Nothing remains but to bow down among the prisoners, and they shall fall among the slain. For all this His anger is not turned away, and His hand is stretched out still.

There shall be a highway for the remnant of His people, who will be left from Assyria, as it was for Israel when he came up from the land of Egypt.

In the day the Lord gives you rest from your sorrow, and from your fear, and from the hard bondage in which you were made to serve,

The lofty looks of man shall be humbled, and the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, and the Lord alone shall be exalted in that day.

O  Lord, You are my God. I will exalt You, I will praise Your name, for You have done wonderful things; Your plans formed of old are faithfulness and truth.

It shall be said in that day: Behold, this is our God, for whom we have waited that He might save us. This is the Lord for whom we have waited; we will be glad and rejoice in His salvation.

In that day this song shall be sung in the land of Judah: We have a strong city; He appoints walls and bulwarks for security.

and the ransomed of the Lord shall return and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads. They shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.

Sing, O heavens! And be joyful, O earth! And break forth into singing, O mountains! For the Lord has comforted His people and will have mercy on His afflicted.

For the Lord shall comfort Zion, He will comfort all her waste places; He will make her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of the Lord; joy and gladness shall be found in it, thanksgiving, and the voice of melody.

For a small moment I have forsaken you, but with great mercies I will gather you.

In a little wrath I hid My face from you for a moment; but with everlasting kindness I will have mercy on you, says the Lord your Redeemer.

For this is as the waters of Noah to Me; for as I have sworn that the waters of Noah should no longer cover the earth, so I have sworn that I would not be wrathful with you nor rebuke you.

The sons of foreigners shall build up your walls, and their kings shall minister to you; for in My wrath I struck you, but in My favor I have had mercy on you.

I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.

You meet him who rejoices in doing righteousness, those who remember You in Your ways. Behold, You were angry, for we had sinned; in our sins we remained a long time, and shall we be saved?

But be glad and rejoice forever in that which I create; for behold, I create Jerusalem for rejoicing, and her people for joy.

As one whom his mother comforts, so I will comfort you; and you shall be comforted in Jerusalem.

Out of them will proceed thanksgiving and the voice of those who make merry; and I will multiply them, and they will not be few. I will also glorify them, and they will not be small.

Then the virgin shall rejoice in the dance, both young men and old together; for I will turn their mourning into joy, and will comfort them, and make them rejoice from their sorrow.

How can I give you up, Ephraim? How can I hand you over, Israel? How can I make you like Admah? How can I treat you like Zeboyim? My heart churns within Me; My compassion is stirred.

Come, let us return to the Lord, for He has torn, and He will heal us. He has struck, and He will bind us up.

Therefore thus says the Lord: I have returned to Jerusalem with mercy, and My house will be built in it, says the Lord of Hosts, and a measuring line will be stretched over Jerusalem.

On that day “holy to the lord” will be engraved on the bells of the horses. And the pots in the house of the Lord will be as the basins before the altar.

And the Lord will be king over all the earth. In that day it will be—“The Lord is one,” and His name is one.

But now I will not be as in the former days against this remnant people, says the Lord of Hosts.

Thus says the Lord of Hosts: The fast during the fourth and fifth months, and the fasts during the seventh and tenth months, will become rejoicing and joy and pleasant feasts for the house of Judah. So love what brings truth and peace.

For if their rejection means the reconciliation of the world, what will their acceptance mean but life from the dead?
