Therefore, in all things it was necessary for Him to be made like His brothers, so that He might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in the things pertaining to God, to make atonement for the sins of the people.

And the priests slaughtered them and purified the altar with their blood to provide atoning reconciliation for all Israel because the king said that the burnt offering and sin offering would be for all Israel.

Righteousness shall be the belt of his loins, and faithfulness the belt about his waist.

So you shall do the seventh day of the month for everyone who errs and for him who is naive. So you shall make atonement for the temple.

“Seventy weeks have been determined for your people and upon your holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make atonement for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the Most Holy Place.

And the rest of the oil that is in the priest’s hand he shall pour upon the head of him who is to be cleansed, and the priest shall make atonement for him before the Lord.

And he shall make atonement for the Holy Place, because of the uncleanness of the Israelites and because of their transgressions in all their sins, and so he shall do for the tent of meeting that remains among them in the midst of their uncleanness.

Any sin offering where blood is brought into the tent of meeting to make atonement in the holy place shall not be eaten. It shall be burned up in the fire.

He slaughtered it, and Moses took the blood, and put it on the horns of the altar around it with his finger, and purified the altar, and poured the blood at the base of the altar, and sanctified it to make reconciliation on it.

The priest will make atonement for all the assembly of the Israelites, and it will be forgiven them because it is ignorance, and they will bring their offering, a sacrifice made by fire to the Lord, and their sin offering before the Lord, for their ignorance.

In Christ Jesus therefore I have reason to boast in my service to God.

For if while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of His Son, how much more, being reconciled, shall we be saved by His life!

and that He might reconcile both to God into one body through the cross, thereby slaying the enmity.

And you, who were formerly alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled

and since we have a High Priest over the house of God,

For both He who sanctifies and those who are sanctified are all of One. For this reason He is not ashamed to call them brothers,

So then, as the children share in flesh and blood, He likewise took part in these, so that through death He might destroy him who has the power of death, that is, the devil,

For surely He does not help the angels, but He helps the seed of Abraham.

Therefore, holy brothers, partakers in a heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Jesus Christ,

who was faithful to Him who appointed Him, as Moses was faithful in all His house.

Moses was faithful in all God’s house as a servant, testifying about those things that were to be spoken later.

Since then we have a great High Priest who has passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to our confession.

For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who was in every sense tempted like we are, yet without sin.

For every high priest chosen from among men is appointed to represent men in things pertaining to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins.

being designated by God a High Priest according to the order of Melchizedek.

He is able to have compassion on the ignorant and on those who are wayward, for he himself is also subject to weakness.

So also Christ did not glorify Himself to be made a High Priest, but it was He who said to Him: “You are My Son; today I have become Your Father.”

This is where Jesus has entered for us as a forerunner, since He has become the everlasting High Priest in the order of Melchizedek.

For such a High Priest was fitting for us, for He is holy, innocent, undefiled, separate from sinners, and is higher than the heavens.

For the law appoints men who are weak as high priests, but the word of the oath, which came after the law, appoints a Son who is made perfect forever.

Now this is the main point of the things that we are saying: We have such a High Priest, who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens,

For every high priest is appointed to offer gifts and sacrifices. Therefore it is necessary that this priest also have something to offer.

But Christ, when He came as a High Priest of the good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this creation,
