He esteemed the reproach of Christ as greater riches than the treasures in Egypt, for he looked to the reward.

They are surprised that you do not join them in the same excess of wild living, and so they speak evil of you.

As they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name. This man they compelled to bear His cross.

Then He said to them all, “If anyone will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.

Let us look to Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.

You have not yet resisted to bloodshed while striving against sin.
