For we know Him who said, “Vengeance is Mine,” says the Lord, “I will repay.” And again He says, “The Lord will judge His people.”

For the Lord will vindicate His people, and He will have compassion on His servants.

He shall call to the heavens above, and to the earth, that He may judge His people:

O  Lord God, to whom vengeance belongs— O God to whom vengeance belongs, shine forth!

As for you, O My flock, thus says the Lord God: Behold, I will judge between sheep and cattle, between the rams and the male goats.

You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the sons of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the Lord.

The Lord is a jealous and avenging God; the Lord avenges and is furious. The Lord takes vengeance on His enemies, and He reserves it for His adversaries;

Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to God’s wrath, for it is written: “Vengeance is Mine. I will repay,” says the Lord.

for he is the servant of God for your good. But if you do what is evil, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain, for he is the servant of God, an avenger to execute wrath upon him who practices evil.

For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive his recompense in the body, according to what he has done, whether it was good or bad.

Now my lord, as the Lord lives, and as your soul lives, because the Lord has restrained you from coming in bloodshed and from avenging yourself with your own hand, now let your enemies, and those seeking to do evil to my lord, be as Nabal.

David said, “As the Lord lives, the Lord will strike him, or his day will come to die, or he will go down into battle and perish.
