For the vision is yet for an appointed time; but it speaks of the end, and does not lie. If it delays, wait for it; it will surely come, it will not delay.

For I the Lord will speak, and the word that I speak shall come to pass. It shall be no more prolonged, for in your days, O rebellious house, I will say the word, and will perform it, says the Lord God.

In that day messengers shall go forth from Me in ships to make the careless Cushites afraid, and great pain shall come upon them as in the day of Egypt. Behold, it is coming!

Now I have come to make you understand what shall befall your people in the latter days. For the vision is yet for many days.”

As for both of these kings, their hearts shall plan on mischief, and they shall speak lies to one another at one table. But it shall not prosper, for the end shall yet be at the appointed time.

Some of the wise will fall, so that they may be purged, purified, and made white, until the time of the end, for it is still for the appointed time.

So he came near where I stood. And when he came, I was afraid and fell upon my face; but he said to me, “Understand, son of man, that the vision deals with the time of the end.”

He said, “Behold, I will make you know what shall be in the final period of the indignation, for the end shall be at the appointed time.

“Seventy weeks have been determined for your people and upon your holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make atonement for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the Most Holy Place.

But as for me, I watch for the Lord; I await the God of my salvation; my God will hear me.

Therefore wait for Me, declares the Lord, until the day when I rise up to seize the plunder; for My decision is to gather nations, to assemble kingdoms, to pour on them My indignation, all My fierce anger; for all the earth will be devoured with the fire of My jealousy.

God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He spoken, and will He not do it? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?

Now there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon, and this man was righteous and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him.

He said to them, “It is not for you to know the times or the dates, which the Father has fixed by His own authority.

He has made from one blood every nation of men to live on the entire surface of the earth, having appointed fixed times and the boundaries of their habitation,

But he is under tutors and governors until the time appointed by the father.

And in their greed they will exploit you with deceptive words. Their judgment, made long ago, does not linger, and their destruction does not slumber.

The Lord is not slow concerning His promise, as some count slowness. But He is patient with us, because He does not want any to perish, but all to come to repentance.
