Judah, your brothers shall praise you; your hand shall be on the neck of your enemies; your father’s sons will bow down before you.

For it is evident that our Lord descended from Judah, a tribe concerning which Moses said nothing about priests.

When they brought out those five kings to Joshua, he called out to all the men of Israel and the army commanders, “Come here and place your feet on the necks of these kings.” So they came near and placed their feet on their necks.

This is the inheritance of the tribe of Judah according to their clans.

The seventh angel sounded, and there were loud voices in heaven, saying: “The kingdoms of the world have become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever.”

Then one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep. Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and to loose its seven seals.”

The Israelites arose, went up to Bethel, and asked God, “Who should go up first to wage war against the Benjamites?” The Lord said, “Judah first.”
