When they had eaten up the grain which they had brought out of Egypt, their father said to them, “Go back and buy us a little food.”
Now the famine was severe in the land.
They said, “My lord, we indeed came down the first time to buy food.
Judah spoke to him, saying, “The man solemnly warned us, saying, ‘You will not see my face unless your brother is with you.’
If you will send our brother with us, we will go down and buy food for you.
“Our father said, ‘Go again and buy us a little food.’
Better is little with the fear of the Lord than great treasure with trouble.
Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.
She considers a field and buys it; with the fruit of her hands she plants a vineyard.
But if any do not care for their own, and especially for those of their own house, they have denied the faith and are worse than unbelievers.
