Isaac dug again the wells of water, which they had dug in the days of Abraham his father, for the Philistines had stopped them up after the death of Abraham. He called their names after the names his father had called them.

Then Abraham complained to Abimelech about a well of water that Abimelech’s servants had violently seized.

And he said, “You shall take these seven ewe lambs from my hand so that they may be a witness that I have dug this well.”

Therefore he called that place Beer-sheba, because the two of them swore an oath there.

So Isaac departed from there and pitched his tent in the Valley of Gerar and settled there.

But when Isaac’s servants dug in the valley and found a well of running water there,

And he built towers in the wilderness, and he dug out many cisterns because he had a large amount of livestock, both in the lowland Shephelah and in the plain. He also had workers in the fields and vineyards in the hills and fertile orchards, for he loved agriculture.

Those who choose another god multiply their sorrows; their drink offerings of blood I will not offer nor take their names upon my lips.

I will remove the names of the Baals from her mouth, and they will no longer be remembered by their name.

And on that day, says the Lord of Hosts, I will cut off the names of the idols from the land, and they will not be remembered any more. And I will also remove from the land the prophets and the unclean spirit.

Nebo and Baal Meon (their names being changed) and Sibmah; and they named the other cities which they built.
