Now therefore, swear to me by God that you will not deal deceitfully with me, or with my children, or with my descendants. Instead, according to the kindness that I have shown to you, you will show to me and to the land where you have lived.”

Then Abimelech took sheep, oxen, and male and female servants, and gave them to Abraham, and returned his wife Sarah to him.

Abraham said, “I will swear.”

and I will make you swear by the Lord, the God of heaven and the God of the earth, that you will not take a wife for my son from the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I live.

And they said, “We saw plainly that the Lord was with you. So we said, ‘Let there now be an oath between us, between you and us, and let us make a covenant with you,

Now therefore come, let us make a covenant, you and I, and let it be as a witness between you and me.”

Jonathan made David swear again, because he loved him, and he loved him as he loved his own soul.

David said to him, “Will you bring me down to this raiding party?” And he said, “Swear to me by God that you will neither kill me, nor deliver me into the hand of my master, and I will bring you down to this raiding party.”
