So Abraham rose up early in the morning, and took bread and a skin of water and gave it to Hagar, putting it on her shoulder, and sent her away with the child. So she departed and wandered in the Wilderness of Beer-sheba.

The angel of the Lord found her by a spring of water in the wilderness. It was the spring on the way to Shur.

Now Abraham got up early in the morning and went to the place where he stood before the Lord.

Yet I will also make a nation of the son of the slave woman, because he is your offspring.”

When the water in the skin was gone, she placed the child under one of the shrubs.

And he called it Shibah. Therefore, the name of the city is Beer-sheba to this day.
