Then the Lord God formed man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living being.

So it is written, “The first man Adam was made a living soul.” The last Adam was made a life-giving spirit.

The Spirit of God has made me, and the breath of the Almighty has given me life.

and the dust returns to the earth as it was, and the life breath returns to God who gave it.

Know that the Lord, He is God! It is He who has made us, and we are His; we are His people, and the sheep of His pasture.

Rather, O man, who are you to answer back to God? Shall the thing formed say to him who formed it, “Why have you made me like this?”

Cease regarding man, whose breath is in his nostrils; for why should he be esteemed?

therefore the Lord God sent him out from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from which he was taken.

Furthermore, we have had human fathers, and they corrected us, and we gave them reverence. Shall we not much more be subject to the Father of spirits and live?

They fell on their faces and said, “O God, the God of the spirits of all flesh, will one man sin and You will be angry with all the assembly?”

The spirit of man is the light of the Lord, searching all the innermost depths of the heart.

Surely I am before God like you; I also am formed out of the clay.

We know that if our earthly house, this tent, were to be destroyed, we have an eternal building of God in the heavens, a house not made with hands.

But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, the excellency of the power being from God and not from ourselves.

When He had said this, He breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit.

Even more, those who dwell in houses of clay, whose foundation is in the dust, who are crushed before the moth.

“Let the Lord, the God of the spirits of all flesh, appoint a man over the assembly

a time to tear up, and a time to mend together; a time to be silent, and a time to speak;

But a mist arose from the earth and watered the whole surface of the ground.

The breath of our life, the anointed king of the Lord, was captured in their traps, of whom we said, “Under his shadow we shall live among the nations.”

Thus says the Lord God to these bones: Behold, I will cause breath to enter you so that you live.

So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.

And I will lay sinews upon you and will grow back flesh upon you and cover you with skin and put breath in you so that you live. Then you shall know that I am the Lord.”
