I will make of you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing.

I will make your descendants like the dust of the earth, so that if a man could number the dust of the earth, then your descendants could also be numbered.

He brought him outside and said, “Look up toward heaven and count the stars, if you are able to count them.” And He said to him, “So will your descendants be.”

So it was that when God destroyed the cities of the valley, God remembered Abraham, and sent Lot out of the middle of the destruction, when He overthrew the cities in which Lot lived.

Now Abraham was old, well advanced in age; and the Lord had blessed Abraham in all things.

The Lord has greatly blessed my master, and he has become wealthy. He has given him flocks and herds, and silver and gold, and male and female servants, and camels and donkeys.

After the death of Abraham, God blessed his son Isaac. Isaac lived at Beer Lahai Roi.

Sojourn in this land, and I will be with you and will bless you; for I will give to you and all your descendants all these lands, and I will fulfill the oath which I swore to Abraham your father.

I will make your descendants multiply as the stars of the heavens and will give your descendants all these lands. By your descendants all the nations of the earth will be blessed,

Let peoples serve you, and nations bow down to you. Be master over your brothers, and let your mother’s sons bow down to you. Cursed be everyone who curses you, and blessed be those who bless you!”

Your descendants will be like the dust of the earth, and you will spread abroad to the west and to the east and to the north and to the south, and in you and in your descendants all the families of the earth will be blessed.

God said to him, “I am God Almighty. Be fruitful and multiply. A nation and a company of nations will come from you, and kings shall come forth from you.

Then He said, “I am God, the God of your father. Do not be afraid to go down to Egypt, for I will make you into a great nation there.

I have been with you wherever you have gone, and I have cut off all of your enemies before you. I will make your name great, like the great ones across the land.

Moreover, the king’s servants came to bless our lord King David, saying, ‘May God make the name of Solomon better than your name and make his throne greater than your throne.’ And the king bowed himself upon the bed.

Your wickedness may hurt a man like you, and your righteousness may profit a son of man.

He also blesses them, and they multiply greatly; and He does not let their livestock decrease.

Nevertheless, the sons of Israel were fruitful, and increased abundantly, and multiplied, and became exceedingly mighty, so that the land was filled with them.

Now therefore let Me alone, so that My wrath may burn against them and I may destroy them. And I will make of you a great nation.”

Look to Abraham your father and to Sarah who bore you; for I called him alone, and blessed him, and multiplied him.

I will make them and the places all around My hill a blessing. And I will cause the showers to come down in their season. They shall be showers of blessing.

You will give faithfulness to Jacob and benevolence to Abraham, which You swore to our fathers from the days of old.

And as you have been like a curse among the nations, O house of Israel and house of Judah, I will deliver you, and you will be a blessing. Fear not, and strengthen your hands!

I will strike them with the pestilence, and disinherit them, and will make from you a nation greater and mightier than they.”

God said to Balaam, “You will not go with them. You will not curse the people because they are blessed.”

Behold, I have received a commandment to bless, and He has blessed, and I cannot reverse it.

And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith that he had while being uncircumcised, so that he might be the father of all those who believe, though they are uncircumcised, that righteousness might be credited to them also,

so that the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

Therefore know that those who are of faith are the sons of Abraham.

Then you must answer and say before the Lord your God, “A wandering Aramean was my father, and he went down into Egypt, and sojourned there with only a few in number, but there he became a great, mighty, and populous nation.
