For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

The light shines in darkness, but the darkness has not overcome it.

I form the light and create darkness; I make peace and create calamity; I, the Lord, do all these things.

The sun shall no longer be your light by day, nor for brightness shall the moon give light to you; but the Lord shall be an everlasting light to you and your God for your glory.

This then is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you: God is light, and in Him is no darkness at all.
