Her officials in her midst are like wolves tearing the prey by shedding blood and destroying lives in order to obtain dishonest gain.

In you are men who carry slanders to shed blood. And in you they eat at the mountain shrines. In your midst they commit lewdness.

Swearing, lying, and killing, and stealing and adultery break out, and bloodshed follows bloodshed.

They covet fields and seize them, and houses and take them. They defraud a man of his house, and a fellow man of his inheritance.

The godly has perished from the earth, and no one is upright among men. All of them lie in wait for bloodshed; each hunts his brother with a net.

Yet she went into exile, she went into captivity; her young children were dashed to pieces at the head of every street; they cast lots for her honorable men, and all her great men were bound in chains.
