Then he brought me out by way of the north gate, and led me around on the outside to the outer gate that faces east; and behold, the water flowed out on the south side.
Then the Lord said to me: This gate shall be shut; it shall not be opened, and no man shall enter by it. Because the Lord, the God of Israel, has entered by it, therefore it shall be shut.
Then he brought me by the way of the north gate before the temple; and I looked, and behold, the glory of the Lord filled the house of the Lord, and I fell upon my face.
Then he brought me back to the door of the temple; and behold, water was flowing out from under the threshold of the temple eastward, for the front of the temple faced east; the water was flowing down from under from the right side of the temple, south of the altar.
When the man who had the line in his hand went eastward, he measured one thousand cubits, and he brought me through the water; the water reached the ankles.
