Ezekiel 44:11

Yet they shall be ministers in My sanctuary, having charge at the gates of the house and ministering to the house. They shall slay the burnt offering and the sacrifice for the people, and they shall stand before them to minister to them.

However there were too few priests, and they were not able to skin the burnt offerings. But their brothers the Levites helped them until the work was finished and more priests consecrated themselves, for the Levites were more upright in heart to consecrate themselves than the priests.

For there were many in the assembly who had consecrated themselves, so the Levites slaughtered the Passover lamb for those who were not clean in order to consecrate the people to the Lord.

He said to me, “This chamber that faces south is for the priests who have charge of the temple.

But I will make them keepers of the charge of the temple for all its service and for all that shall be done in it.

Then he said to me, “These are the boiling places where the ministers of the temple shall boil the sacrifices of the people.”

Does it seem a small thing to you that the God of Israel has separated you from the assembly of Israel to bring you near to Himself to do the service of the tabernacle of the Lord, and to stand before the assembly to minister to them?

Your brothers also of the tribe of Levi, the tribe of your father, bring with you, and let them be joined with you, and minister to you. But you and your sons with you will minister before the tent of witness.

And behold, I have taken your brothers, the Levites, from among the Israelites; they are given to you as a gift from the Lord to perform the service of the tent of meeting.

And the Lord spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying:

But they will minister with their brothers in the tent of meeting, to attend to their needs, but will not do the work. Thus you will do to the Levites concerning their duties.
