When he brought me there, behold, there was a man whose appearance was like the appearance of bronze, with a line of flax and a measuring reed in his hand. And he stood in the gate.

I shall make justice the measuring line and righteousness the plummet; then the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies and the waters shall overflow the hiding place.

Then I saw as glowing metal, as the appearance of fire all around within it, from the appearance of His loins and upward; and from the appearance of His loins and downward I saw as it were the appearance of fire, and there was a brightness around Him.

Their legs were straight and the soles of their feet were like the sole of a calf’s hoof. And they gleamed like the color of burnished bronze.

Afterward he brought me to the temple and measured the posts, six cubits wide on the one side and six cubits wide on the other side, which was the width of the tabernacle.

He measured the east side with the measuring reed, five hundred cubits with the measuring reed all around.

Then I heard one speaking to me out of the temple. And a man stood by me.

When the man who had the line in his hand went eastward, he measured one thousand cubits, and he brought me through the water; the water reached the ankles.

Then I looked, and behold, there was a likeness as the appearance of a man. From His loins and downward was the appearance of fire. And from His loins and upward was the appearance of brightness, as the appearance of glowing metal.

His feet were like fine brass, as if refined in a furnace, and His voice as the sound of many waters.

I was given a reed like a measuring rod. The angel stood, saying, “Rise and measure the temple of God and the altar, and those who worship in it.

He who talked with me had a golden rod to measure the city and its gates and wall.
