the Babylonians and all the Chaldeans, Pekod and Shoa and Koa, and all the Assyrians with them. All of them are desirable young men, captains and rulers, officers and men of renown, all of them riding on horses.

The name of the third river is Tigris; it goes toward the east of Assyria. The fourth river is the Euphrates.

They lived from Havilah as far as Shur, which is east of Egypt, as you go toward Assyria. He died in the presence of all his relatives.

The Lord sent against him bands of Chaldeans, bands of Arameans, bands of Moabites, and bands of Ammonites. He sent them against Judah to destroy it, according to the word of the Lord that He spoke by His servants the prophets.

With joy they observed the Feast of Unleavened Bread for seven days because the Lord had made them joyful. He had turned the heart of the king of Assyria toward them and strengthened their hands in the work on the house of God, who is the God of Israel.

While he was still speaking, another came and said, “The Chaldeans formed three companies and made a raid on the camels and have taken them away. They killed the servants with the edge of the sword, and I alone have escaped to tell you.”

Behold the land of the Chaldeans; this was a people who was not; Assyria founded it for those who dwell in the wilderness. They set up their siege towers, they stripped its palaces, and brought it to ruin.

Go up against the land of Merathaim, even against it, and against the inhabitants of Pekod. Slay and utterly destroy them, says the Lord, and do according to all that I have commanded you.

Again the word of the Lord came to me, saying:

She lusted after the Assyrians her neighbors, captains and rulers clothed most gorgeously, horsemen riding on horses, all of them desirable young men.

So she increased her harlotries. And she saw men portrayed on the wall, the images of the Chaldeans portrayed with vermilion,

Therefore, O Oholibah, thus says the Lord God: Behold, I will raise up your lovers against you, from whom you were alienated, and I will bring them against you on every side:

who were clothed in purple, captains and rulers, all of them desirable young men, horsemen riding on horses.

“Then he departed from the land of the Chaldeans and lived in Harran. When his father died, He removed him from there to this land in which you now live.
