But I will spare a few men of them from the sword, from famine, and from pestilence, so that they may declare all their abominations among the nations where they go and know that I am the Lord.
I will make your descendants like the dust of the earth, so that if a man could number the dust of the earth, then your descendants could also be numbered.
For though your people, O Israel, are as the sand of the sea, yet a remnant of them shall return; the destruction is decreed, overflowing with righteousness.
For thus it shall be in the midst of the earth among the peoples, as the shaking of an olive tree, and as the gleaning of grapes when the vintage is done.
But yet in it shall be one-tenth, and it shall return, and shall be burned, as a terebinth tree or as an oak, whose stump remains when it is cut down, so the holy seed is its stump.”
For I am with you, says the Lord, to save you. Although I make a full end of all nations wherever I have scattered you, yet I will not make a full end of you. But I will correct you in measure and will not leave you altogether unpunished.
For thus says the Lord God: How much more when I send My four sore judgments on Jerusalem, the sword, and the famine, and the wild beasts, and the pestilence, to cut off man and beast from it.
When they entered the nations, where they went, they profaned My holy name, because they said of them, “These are the people of the Lord and have gone out of His land.”
Then you shall remember your evil ways and your deeds that were not good, and shall loathe yourselves in your own sight for your iniquities and your abominations.
The sword is outside, and the pestilence and the famine within. He who is in the field shall die by the sword; and he who is in the city, famine and pestilence shall devour him.
