They shall make the ephod of gold, of blue, and of purple, of scarlet, and fine twined linen, the work of a skilled workman.

Gideon used these things to make an ephod. He put it in his city, in Ophrah, and all Israel prostituted themselves to it there. It became a snare to Gideon and his family.

When Abiathar the son of Ahimelech fled to David at Keilah, he came down with the ephod in his hand.

And David said to Abiathar the priest, the son of Ahimelech, “Please bring the ephod to me.” So Abiathar brought the ephod to David.
