then there will be an oath before the Lord between both of them that he has not laid his hand upon his neighbor’s property. And its owner must accept this, and he will not have to make restitution.

If a man gives his neighbor a donkey, or an ox, or a sheep, or any beast to keep for him, and it dies, or is injured, or is driven away while no one sees it,

However, if it was stolen from him, he shall make restitution to its owner.

If the thief is not caught, then the owner of the house will be brought before the judges to determine if he has laid his hand on his neighbor’s goods.

You must not give a false report. Do not join your hand with the wicked to be a malicious witness.

Obey the king’s command because of your oath to God.

When a person sins in hearing the spoken oath, and he is a witness, whether he saw or knew about the incident, if he does not report it, he bears guilt.

or if he has found a lost item and lies about it, and swears falsely concerning any one of these sins that a man may commit;

For men indeed swear by a greater authority than themselves, and for them an oath of confirmation ends all dispute.
