He said, “Who made you a prince and a judge over us? Do you intend to kill me as you killed the Egyptian?” Moses feared and said, “Surely this thing is known.”

So Abram said to Lot, “Let there be no strife, I ask you, between me and you, and between my herdsmen and your herdsmen, for we are close relatives.

But they replied, “Stand back!” Also, they said, “This man came here as a foreigner, and he keeps acting like a judge. We will deal worse with you than with them.” So they pressed hard against Lot, and came close to breaking down the door.

Jesus said to him, “Man, who appointed Me a judge or an arbitrator between you?”

“But his citizens hated him and sent a delegation after him, saying, ‘We do not want this man to reign over us.’

But as for those enemies of mine, who would not let me reign over them, bring them here and slay them before me.’ ”

“This Moses, whom they rejected, saying, ‘Who appointed you a ruler and a judge?’ God sent as both ruler and redeemer by the hand of the angel who appeared to him in the bush.

By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king. He endured by looking to Him who is invisible.
