When they have a dispute, it comes to me, and I judge between a man and his neighbor, and I make known the statutes of God and His laws.”

Moses’ father-in-law said to him, “What you are doing is not good.

Whenever a case comes before you from your brothers who live in their cities, concerning bloodshed or offenses against law or commandment, against statutes or judgments, you shall warn them, lest they trespass against the Lord and wrath come upon you and your brothers. Do this, and you will not trespass.
