Exodus 13:18

So God led the people around, by way of the wilderness to the Red Sea. And the Israelites went up, ready for battle, out of the land of Egypt.

Your wives, your children, and your livestock may live in the land that Moses gave you on the east side of the Jordan. But you must cross over with your brothers fully armed, your mighty men of valor, and help them,

The Reubenites, the Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manasseh crossed over in battle formation in front of the Israelites, according to what Moses had said to them.

About forty thousand battle-ready men crossed over before the Lord for battle on the plains of Jericho.
