What benefit is there to a person in all his labors at which he toils under the sun?

Then I turned to all the work that my hands had done, and all the labor in which I had toiled doing it; and again, all of it was vanity and chasing the wind, and there was no benefit under the sun.

What benefit does the worker have in his toil?

There is a grave misery that I have observed under the sun: when riches were kept by an owner to his hurt,

We have been with child, we have been in pain, we have, as it were, brought forth wind; we have not accomplished any deliverance in the earth, nor were the inhabitants of the world born.

The priests did not say, “Where is the Lord?” And those who handle the law did not know Me; the shepherds also transgressed against Me, and the prophets prophesied by Baal and walked after things that do not profit.

For they sow the wind, and they will reap the whirlwind. The standing grain has no head and will yield no flour. If it were to yield, foreigners would swallow it up.

For what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his own soul?

Do not work for the food which perishes, but for that food which endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For God the Father has set His seal on Him.”

that you submit yourselves to such people, and to everyone who helps and labors with us.

But do not turn aside, for then you would be going after empty things which cannot profit or deliver, for they are nothing.
