When there is an increase of good things, there is an increase of those who devour them. And what profit is there to the one who owns good things, except to see them with his eyes?

He treated Abram well for her sake, and he had sheep and livestock, male and female donkeys, male and female servants, and camels.

Abram was very wealthy in livestock, in silver, and in gold.

Will you let your eyes fly after that which is not? For such wealth certainly sprouts wings, flying away like an eagle to the heavens.

For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father, but is of the world.
